2026 Competition Management
Administration Instructions
This document outlines the materials provided and the Operations and Activities to be conducted by the FAB Malaga Committee post holders, Member Club Competition Secretaries and the Host Club Competition Secretaries.

The allocation of FAB Malaga Competitions will be determined and published as part of the Federation Calendar for the given year and the Club Representatives that form part of the FAB Committee will decide the allocation and agree the dates of those Competitions.
The Committee will also agree the entry fee and format for each Competition (ie Open/ Mixed etc) with the Calendar normally agreed prior to the end of September of the year prior.
The Calendar will be published to the FAB Malaga Website and sent to each Clubs Federation Representative for distribution within each club. The Calendar will form the basis for the FAB Malaga Budget prepared by the Vocal Economico and agreed by FAB Malaga Committee and the Delegado.
1. Call Notices
Call Notices based on the dates and venue set out in the Calendar for the year will be generated and sent to each club's Competition Secretary as a batch for review a minimum of 6 weeks prior to the start of the Competition season. Each Call Notice will include the Entry Fee/method of payment, closing date for entries, date the draw is to be made by the Host Club and the Competition Secretary contact details to receive the entry list from each Member Club.
These Call Notices should be posted by the Member Clubs Competition Secretary not less than 4 weeks prior to the event and a reminder should be issued by the FAB Malaga Competition Secretary a month before the event.
Any change requests to the Call Notice should be made to the FAB Malaga Competition Secretary by the Member Clubs Representative and a revision if applicable will be issued to all the clubs.
2. Materials Provided by FAB Malaga to Host Clubs by the FAB Malaga Competition Secretary.
- FAB Malaga score cards (132 typical)
- Draw sheet (paper) electronic version sent by email. Bowls stickers (48 each of 2 different colours)
- Awards for finalists if not personalised. Trophy for event.
- FAB Malaga Table cloth
Ordering of materials listed above shall be the responsibility of the FAB Malaga Delegado through the FAB or via the Competition Secretary as approved by the FAB Committee.
3. Submission of FAB Malaga Competition Entries
The Member Clubs must allocate a Competition Secretary and contact details that will be identified on the Call Notice to receive entry submissions and receive the payment of fees in 2025.
The Member Clubs Competition Secretary must ensure their entries are all Federated prior to submitting the entries for the specific Competition draw and players should be aware that they are responsible for payment of the entry fee once the entry has been submitted and draw has been completed.
The Entries should include First and Surnames as detailed on the members Federation card and should be submitted by the date and time shown on the Call Notice.
CLUBS THAT DO NOT HAVE ANY ENTRIES SHOULD SUBMIT AN EMAIL TO CONFIRM THEY HAVE NO ENTRIES TO ALLOW THE HOSTS CLUB TO ENSURE NO ENTRIES HAVE BEEN MISSED.
The host club is responsible for completing the Entry sheet and making a Bank Transfer (include Competition Title) for the entry fees received, directly to the Federación Andaluza De Bolos per the Bank details provided on the Competition Entry Form.
A copy of the Bank transfer and the Completed Entry form is to be sent by email to admin@ndaluzadebolos.org and copy treasurer@malagafab.com
4. Competition Draw and Notification to member clubs
The Host Club Competition Secretary MUST VERIFY THAT ALL CLUBS HAVE SUBMITTED OR DECLINED ENTRIES to the Competition.
Where a club has not made a
submission then the Host Club Competition Secretary must verify that an entry has not been omitted before compiling the entry list, completing the draw on the date shown on the Call sheet (or within 24 hours) and preparing the draw sheet and playing schedule in accordance with the days allocated for that Competition.
A copy of the draw sheet including the start times for each session is to be sent to FAB Malaga Competition Secretary and the Member Clubs Competition Secretary for onward transmission to their Club's competitors.
THE MEMBER CLUBS COMPETITION SECRETARY MUST CONFIRM RECEIPT by return email.
The Host Club Competition Secretary should provide the details of the Umpires to be used for each day of the event to allow the preparation of the Expense Claim Form by the Vocal Economico. Details to include full address, TIE number, Spanish Bank account details and date allocated as Umpire.
The host club must also advise the Vocal Economico of the invoice number to be used to prepare the Invoice for the rink rental for the event.
5. Verification of Federated Entries
The FAB Malaga Competition Secretary will review the entires to confirm all Competitors are Federated and eligible to play and when that process is complete will forward the draw sheet to the Website Co-ordinator(ronjones@malagafab.com).
Should any issues be identified FAB Malaga Competition Secretary will notify the member club responsible for the entry to verify or obtain Federation License prior to play.
6. Organising Umpire and Markers
The Host Club must organise Umpire (and Markers if necessary) for their own event and preferably from within their own club.
A "Competent Person" maybe used in Preliminary and round of 16, a qualified Marker or Umpire must be used for the quarter, and an Umpire must be available for the semi and final stages. If that individual is provided from outside the Host Club then that Individual will be entitled to claim the expense fees payable for that particular day.
The Chairman of the Umpire and Markers Committee will be responsible for organising an Umpire from another club should the host club make such a request and should be advised of the Umpiring arrangements for the competition.
(Umpire /"Competent Person" names should be written on Draw sheet for the various rounds)
The expense claims (one individual/day but can be same recipient for multiple days) will be sent electronically to the Host Club for printing, if they can not be issued directly with a paper copy for signing (in BLUE INK) by the named recipient of the expenses.
The original signed claim form to be sent back to the Vocal Economico for onward submission to the FAB on Completion of the event.
As a courtesy the host Club is expected to provide food, water and hot beverages for Umpire and Markers from other clubs working on the day of an event.
6. Administration Initial Competition Day
For season 2025 the Host Club should collect the entry fees from the designated representative from each member club prior to the start of the first session.
A group picture of the Competitors prior to the start of the initial round should be taken in landscape and sent to the FAB Malaga Competition Secretary
7. Administration at First and Subsequent Sessions
The Host Club Competition Secretary is responsible for ensuring the Scorecards are prepared for each match and the rinks drawn prior to each session leading up to the final, ensuring that no teams play on the same rink on any given day.
Where necessary markers will be allocated for the singles events.
After validating scores and allowing time for objections the Individual game scores and progress of the winners should be added to the draw sheet. (Retain cards for one week after Final).
Each days results with scores, should be forwarded to ronjones@malagafab.com as the Competition Secretary to update the website.
8. Administration Final Day
Prior to play on the final day a picture should be taken showing the qualifiers for the Semi Final and or Final including the Umpire (in Landscape)./
Host clubs can allocate the two rinks to be used for the Semi Final before drawing the matches to a specific rink.
The Final must be played on a different rink and can be selected by the host club prior to start of play on finals day.
Clubs are encouraged to take a few action pictures of the event, but this is not a requirement.
A picture must be taken off the Finalists and the Winners on completion of play.
9. Documentation For The Event
The FAB Malaga Competition Secretary will organise the personalised engraving of awards for all the Finalists should the awards not have been previously agreed as non personalised.
Personalised Awards will be issued to the winners host club representative in the weeks following the event.
Based on the pictures received the electronic draw sheet will be updated to include the picture of the winners and ensure all scores are recorded.
Invoices, Volunteer Claims and pictorial proof of Competition will be forwarded to the FAB to verify completion by the Vocal Economico.
Copy of the Invoices and expense claims will be issued to the Host club and/or club of the expense recipient for their records.
10. Umpires
Umpires or "Competent Person" will be responsible for ensuring compliance to the Federation specific Conditions of Play and Laws of the Sports Crystal Mark 4th Edition for Lawn Bowls.11. Disputes and Appeals
All disputes and appeals regarding this document or related to the administration of an individual event should be made to the Delegado FAB Malaga in writing should the individual Competition Secretary or Umpire at the event be unable to resolve the issue.
