The Summer Championships was conceived as a pre-season tournament for those hardy souls who had braved the heat of summer. It remains open to any Federated members and many who are returning to the area after spending their summer bowling elsewhere made it a focal point for their return.

Since 2023 the Tournament has been reduced in line with fewer entries in recent years as the hotter temperatures and aging population takes its toll. This year it again consists of only TWO Disciplines held at different Bowls Clubs during the month of September.
These disciplines are:
Open Triples hosted by Mijas Bowls Club starting 5th September
Open Pairs hosted by La Posada Bowls Club starting 12th September.

All Competitors must hold a valid F.A.B licence before commencement of the Tournament.
